In Ted Robson’s words, being 100 is “just a number”, and when you look at his picture, you will probably all agree!
Ted celebrated becoming a centenarian in December.
Unfortunately, Covid-19 restrictions prevented him from being able to celebrate his style in his local club in Easington, although the champagne is only on ice as far as that is concerned.
Actually, it is whiskey that is Ted’s favourite tipple, so we were only too happy to present him with a bottle to enjoy over the Christmas and new year period.
Former miner Ted, who lives with his wife Sylvia in Hopper Street, also received a telegram from the Queen.
He says: “100 is a just a number to me and apart from a bit of arthritis in my legs, I feel fit as a fiddle.”
Ted and Sylvia would like to thank their son Mark and daughter-in-law Lynne and their three grandchildren Megan, Ethan and Tilly for all the support they provided throughout 2020.
