DAMHA has been short-listed for two prestigious housing awards.
On 13th May, we will discover whether we have been successful in the ‘best resident involvement’ category in the 2021 Northern Housing Awards.
We made the short-list after judges considered the various ways we involve our residents in the day-t0-day running of the organisation, including selecting resident representatives and encouraging people to join our Focus Groups, Steering Committees and Scrutiny Panels.
Later in the year, we will also discover if we have won the award for ‘best older people’s housing development – urban’ at the 2021 Inside Housing Development Awards.
This is for our £3.5 million, 24-home development in Consett, which was completed in 2020.
Paul Mullis, Chief Executive of DAMHA, said: “We are delighted to have been short-listed for the work we are doing to provide more affordable homes for older people, but also how we endeavour to involve as many of our residents as possible in the day-to-day running of DAMHA.
“We may be a smaller housing association but it’s clear that the industry recognises the important part we are playing.”
