Residents living in DAMHA’s residential care home were overwhelmed when they received a gift from brave five-year-old Bradley Lowery.
The Blackhall youngster sent a huge hamper full of gifts to Langley House in Horden. He has made headlines around the world with the story of his battle with cancer,
Manager Christine Conway said: “It was so overwhelming to receive the donation from Bradley. Although we have never met him before he has family links to the care home, as one of his family members is friends with someone who is a resident here.
“He had said he wanted to donate something to older people. We didn’t know it was coming so it was all a lovely surprise.
“I just started crying. The residents were overjoyed to receive it and kindness like this goes a long way, It is just so lovely that someone so young is thinking about people who are older than them.”
The hamper was distributed among the 26 residents we have at the home. In addition, it was also shared with people living in the 10 bungalows opposite which are owned by DAMHA.
Christine added: “We want to say a big thank you to Bradley and his family for their generosity.”
