Confidential Benefits Advice
Many believe that older people are increasingly well off. Some are, but a great many find it desperately hard just to manage on their weekly income. Our staff provides information and advice in the privacy of the resident's home, to ensure awareness of the benefits they have a right to claim.
Community Alarm Service
All of our homes have the facility to be linked to a central warden control system, whereby emergency services can be summoned by staff employed in a central control room 24-hours a day. Mobile wardens can also be sent to investigate emergency calls where necessary. The system can be used for any emergency, including emergency repairs out of office hours.
A smoke detector is also linked to the system ensuring that in the event of a fire, the emergency services are summoned even when the resident is not at home.
The system gives residents and their families' reassurance and peace of mind.
For residents who are in receipt of Housing Benefit, the appropriate Supporting people Team funds the cost of the service. Residents who are not in receipt of Housing Benefit can ask the Supporting people Team to carry out a financial assessment which may result in them paying part of the cost of the service.
