Memories of The Strand
Syd and May Miller of Hartlepool who are 89 and 90 respectively were delighted when they recently read an Article (Echo Travel April 19) about The Strand Palace Hotel – London.
The couple reminisced about the honeymoon they spent there in 1952 and they even still had the original bill and room card (room 7XN) together with a couple of souvenir postcards showing the Grill Room an elegant dining room and Foyer Main Entrance and Hall. The total bill came to £12 13s 5d (£1 16s Od per night, including breakfast).
They even had to produce their ration book, which is indicated on the final bill.
