Mabel Haswell with her daughter Mabel Smith
Mabel celebrates her centenary
The party was just one of four days of partying for Mabel!
100 years-young Mabel only moved to Nettlesworth in September 2006, when she moved to a DAMHA bungalow in Gair Court to be near her daughter Mabel who lives at Plawsworth, and she's already such a well-loved and respected member of the local community it was no surprise that she celebrated her birthday at the Sacriston & Nettlesworth Easter party.
Born and bred in Gateshead, Mabel also had a party with her friends at the over-60's at Low Fell as well as a night out and a family party thrown by her devoted daughter Mabel Smith.

Sprightly Mrs Haswell gets around with the aid of a stick, but can still manage a lot of every day tasks like baking, meals, housework and even does her own ironing! She enjoys her independence and loves reading, going on trips, shopping and, of course, parties.
Best wishes & congratulations on a very special achievement to Mabel.
