Appointment of a New Chief Executive

Over the years, the Association has done much to improve the services for its residents and has contributed to the regeneration of coalfield communities in the local area. Following a recent Audit Commission assessment, the Association was seen as providing “a good two star service with excellent prospects for improvement”. The Association is financially strong and, following a recent strategic review, will remain independent. However, as with most associations, we will need development and other partnerships, particularly in the procurement of goods and services, to ensure that we meet our ‘value for money’ objectives.

While remaining proud of its traditions, the Association has become a forward thinking organisation under the leadership of John Humble, our current Director. Unfortunately, John is leaving his Director post in September 2007 after 18 years service, and it is important to the Executive Committee, staff and residents that the momentum continues.

The Executive Committee has already started the process of recruiting a successor who will be known as the Chief Executive, and Hall and Partners have been retained as Consultants, and can be contacted on telephone 0191 2751600 or email lee.mcgray@hallandpartners.co.uk for an informal discussion or an application pack.

In the meantime, it will be ‘business as usual’ and we will continue to provide services of the highest standards to our residents and to work with and meet the needs of our stakeholders.
