Teeing off for the Association’s 2006 golf day at Chester-le-Street Golf Club were no less that 64 players this September. And a worthy total of more than £800 was raised in the popular annual event, which donates proceeds to the Residents’ Welfare Fund.
Senior Technical Services Officer and organiser of the event Allan Hedley explained: “Everybody enjoyed it. The weather on the day was fine. All in all, it was a good day”.
The same winners as last year – Durham Fire Protection Ltd, who fielded two teams scooped the trophy, while the runners-up awards went to Sunters Ltd.
The competitors in the winning team were D Dobson, L Kilcran, T Park, and C Park.
Nearest to the pin prize was won by M Slater and G Fromme while the winner of the longest drive was C Park.
Prizes were awarded by retired staff member Gordon Penman, as well as Allan Hedley.
