Driving Advice
Severe weather also brings problems for drivers. Although we should all be used to driving in wintry conditions, there are a few things you need to remember:
Check the weather forecast before departure and listen to the radio during your journey in order to receive regular updates. Ensure your car is fully clear of snow, including your lights and number plates. Make sure your water, oil and anti-freeze levels are satisfactory before setting off.
You should also keep a 'winter kit' in the boot of your car including: Ice scraper, de-icer, torch, blanket, warm clothes, food & drink, boots or wellingtons, first aid kit, battery jump leads, spade.
