Golf Day raises over £650
Teeing off for the Association’s 2009 golf day at Beamish Golf Club were 48 players this August and a worthy total of £658 was raised in the popular annual event, which donates proceeds to the Residents’ Welfare Fund.
Senior Technical Services Officer and organiser of the event Allan Hedley explained: “Everybody enjoyed it. The weather on the day was fine. All in all, it was a good day”.
The same winners as last year – Durham Fire Protection Ltd, scooped the trophy, while the runners-up awards went to Lumsdon Wood Partnership.
The competitors in the winning team were P Seed, D Dobson, G Robertson and S Race.
Nearest to the pin prize was won by G Penman while the winner of the longest drive was S Metcalf.
