Resident involvement: Can we do better?

We aim to give our residents a range of ways to get involved and help us to improve the services we provide.

A year ago our Resident Involvement Focus Group produced an Action Plan to develop the ways we involve our residents and they have recently reviewed this plan to look at what we can do in the coming year to make further improvements.

Our Achievements in 2005/06

  • Increased the attendance at the Resident Forum by an average of 20%.
  • Increased the number of Focus Group members from 8 to 25.
  • Induction Training for Focus Group Members has been carried out.
  • Residents now sit on the Executive Committee.
  • Area Meetings have been piloted.
  • A budget for training residents who wanted to be involved has been set up.

Proposed Action Plan for 2006/07

  • Draw up a training programme for Focus Group members and other Representatives who may be interested.
  • Develop Area Meetings with the aim of residents setting their own agendas.
  • Draw up procedures for involving residents in Planned Maintenance works.
  • Produce a leaflet explaining the different ways residents can be involved.

If you have any ideas about how we can improve the way we involve residents or would be interested in getting more involved then please contact our Customer Service Team on 08000 432642.
