Helpcards for Dementia Sufferers
Help is available for people with dementia thanks to an innovative new scheme.
The assistance comes in the form of three ‘helpcards’ which have been designed by people with dementia to support them and others to continue getting out and about, and to carry on with their normal daily life.
Each helpcard enables people with dementia to explain their condition to members of the general public, and to communicate the type of support they may need.
There are three different cards; “I have Alzheimer’s disease”; and “I have memory problems”.
All the cards state “ I would appreciate your help”.
Depending on the situation that people with dementia find themselves in, they can use the card that best describes their condition.
